Our Work
Shake-a-Leg
A two-week trauma-informed intensive filmmaking program
Docutribe partnered with a Florida-based adaptive camp to help youth build emotional resilience through trauma-informed storytelling and filmmaking.
Over a two-week intensive program, participants created a documentary about their experiences, aspirations, and personal journeys. Through the collaborative filmmaking process, youth developed confidence, creativity, empathy, and a stronger sense of belonging. The project demonstrates how storytelling can support mental well-being, personal growth, and the institutions that serve young people—especially when youth are empowered to teach and support one another while advocating directly to those seeking to help them.
Shake-a-Leg
In a Florida-based camp, Shake-A-Leg, where youth are navigating physical, developmental and economic challenges— our docutribe fellow, Olivia Dans created and provided a two-week trauma-informed intensive filmmaking program with the support and partnership of non-profit, Mood Park.
