Yuliia Melnychuk is a PhD in Social Communications and an Associate Professor at the Department of Journalism at Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University. She is a member of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine.

Yuliia has professional experience as a communications specialist. Her academic interests include political and social journalism, media standards and local media.

Since 2007, she has worked as an assistant, first in the Department of Ukrainian Literature and Journalism at Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University, and —after the department was split — as an assistant in the Department of Journalism. She has completed the online courses “Protecting the Rights of People with Disabilities,” “Sociology and Social Research: What, How, and Why?,” “Media Literacy: Practical Skills,” “Politicians: How to Choose Without Regret,” and the Human Rights Academy for Journalists (2019–2020).
