Katalina (Kat) Bingham

Katalina is a rising senior at Sarah Lawrence College, where she studies Film and Political Science. Her passion for social justice and humanitarian work began at an early age, and has remained a driving force throughout her academic and creative pursuits.

A lifelong advocate for community engagement, she organized annual donation drives in lieu of birthday gifts, supporting organizations including Providence House, the Children's Aid Society, and the Yonkers Animal Shelter. In high school, her community fridge proposal was selected as a finalist for the 2023 Bedford Greenlight Award, which recognizes environmentally focused community initiatives. At Sarah Lawrence College, she expanded this concept into Food From Love, a campus-based program dedicated to redistributing surplus food to members of the local community.

Her academic achievements and filmmaking portfolio have earned international recognition, including merit-based acceptance to the BA (Hons) Film and Television program at the University of the Arts London and selection for a production internship with the New Zealand Film Commission in Auckland. Most recently, she completed a filmmaking study-abroad program at Deree through The American College of Greece in Athens, adding to her global perspective on storytelling.

Through documentary filmmaking, Kat seeks to amplify underrepresented voices and explore the intersection of social issues, policy, and human experience. She is excited to continue growing as a storyteller and is grateful for the opportunities ahead with Docutribe.
