Short film | documentary | Arina Kultasova and Maria Tytor

Despite long-standing stereotypes and cultural differences, Eastern and Western Ukrainians, in the 11th year of the war, stand together as a united front – helping one another, saving lives, and fighting side by side for freedom.

The war in Ukraine has been ongoing for eleven years – since Russia illegally occupied Crimea. Over time, it has evolved into an even more hybrid form of warfare: beyond the battles on the front lines, a crucial front has emerged in the information space. Propaganda has become a powerful weapon, not only distorting facts but also attempting to sow division between the people of Eastern and Western Ukraine. Like a seed planted in people’s minds, these narratives take root and gradually shape perceptions.

That is why this film aims to show that, despite all efforts to divide us through stereotypes, myths, and disinformation, Ukrainians remain united in their struggle. They come together with a shared goal – victory and freedom. We seek not only to showcase the power of unity but also to challenge lingering prejudices and inspire action among those who still view Ukrainians from different regions with distrust.

The film will be structured as a deep and compelling narrative, highlighting the essential aspects of social behavior in wartime. We will explore how people react in critical situations, share their stories, and present real-life examples of cooperation and collective efforts that bring Ukraine closer to victory.

In today’s world, visual content plays a crucial role, making video one of the most powerful tools for informing and influencing audiences. Through this film, we aim to evoke strong emotions, make viewers reflect, and ensure this message leaves a lasting impact. Now more than ever, when information warfare holds immense significance, storytelling through video is an essential way to convey the truth.
