My name is Mariia Dutkevych. I'm a 22-year-old Master's student in Philology, including English and German translation, at Chernivtsi National University. I can classify myself as a person who is continually seeking to explore something new and dive into any kind of creative adventure. As someone who works with languages and translation, I've always been fascinated by how stories can cross cultural boundaries and connect people on a deeper level. I am passionate about storytelling through the camera lens and deeply committed to exploring how visual narratives can bridge cultures, preserve voices, and create social impact. I see filmmaking as an extension of my work with language - a way to translate not just words, but emotions, traditions, and lived experiences into compelling visual stories. Speaking of my goals, I'm truly eager to develop skills which may be useful in my future life and career. Here are those skills which are expected from this course: visual storytelling, documentary filmmaking, camera work and editing, building narratives with emotional impact, and using film as a tool for preserving Ukrainian culture and creating social awareness. I strongly believe that this course will provide me with such a valuable experience and a long-lasting impression that will shape both my professional path and personal creative journey.
