Harvard Kennedy School of Government

The Innovation Field Lab course provides a one-of-a-kind experiential learning environment for students who are interested in leading civic changes. Sponsored by the Ash Center for Democratic Governance and Innovation at the Harvard Kennedy School, the Innovation Field Lab works with five small to medium-sized cities in Massachusetts on new ways to solve public problems.

The annual course offers five major cities in the Greater Boston area with direct, ongoing resources coming from the entire Harvard University community. Over the course of each spring semester, teams of students innovate to find solutions for the challenges in each city and implement the solutions with summer fellows.
