Robert Strand is a philanthropist, environmental advocate, filmmaker and the Executive Director & CEO of global non–profit, World Water Film Festival (WWFF). Dedicated to highlighting ongoing water crises around the world, Robert launched WWFF in partnership with UN Water’s International Groundwater Resources Assessment Centre (IGRAC) and the Youth for Global Health & Social Justice. The non-profit provides an international platform for activists and storytellers to highlight human-water relationship issues that he hopes will inspire the general public, policy makers and academics to take action to protect water from pollution and overexploitation.

Robert applies his 30-year background as a renowned Creative Brand Strategist and Executive Coach to his passion for water justice, leading him to build the first film festival to focus on water. In addition, Robert is a Meisner Acting Technique trained actor and has appeared in the short film 'Water You Talking About', feature films 'Pinball, The Man Who Saved The Game', 'Susie Searches' & 'Straight Shooter', and made television appearances on 'The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel', 'Law & Order SVU' & 'Girls On The Bus'.

Robert has served on the Board of Directors for the Licensing Industry Merchandisers Association (LIMA) now Licensing International and served on LIMAʼs Charity Committee, helping to raise funds for the Children’s Brain Tumor Foundation, and is a member of WEF, the Water Environment Federation . Robert holds a BA from Purdue University, & a Certificate of Modern Languages from the University of Strasbourg, France having studied French, German and Arabic – in French.
